Notes of ripe, red and black fruits such as cherries, plums and blackcurrants over a background of sweet, spicy cinnamon and notes of cedar and toast. Tastes of intense ripe fruits with oak ageing notes and a balsamic character with underbrush undertones. Lively acidity and polished tannins giving a solid structure. Persistent finish. This is a very versatile wine that will particularly benefit from pairings with red meats and game, either stewed, barbecued or grilled. Even better if the meat has a smokey or toasty flavour. Semi-hard cheeses are the best matches. Think of Comté, Manchego or Gouda.
